For Her

Last night I painted my lips red
So my words would  stir up the zeal in her restless mind
Angry flames heating up the coldest nights
Keeping us warm
While destroying forests
I painted my lips red last night
For her
I hope she felt it

This morning I painted my lips blue
So my words would calm her troubled soul
Like waves moving in different directions
Peaceful river flowing
While the chaos underneath remains hidden
I painted my lips blue this morning
For her
I hope she liked it

At sunset my lips will be yellow
So my words can help her find clarity in this chaotic world
Clarity as the sun chases away every shadow
Rays and waves
Giving life to her skin
I’ll paint my lips yellow at sunset
For her
I hope she trusts it

Tonight I will paint my lips pink
So my words will attract her soul with a kiss
Tongues twisting into an inseparable knot
Wet and warm
Waking every single nerve
I’ll paint my lips pink tonight
For her
I hope she loves it

Tomorrow I will paint my lips green
So she can hear about the life I see in her
Like the evergreens in the alps
We used to see
From the window in the kitchen
I’ll paint my lips green tomorrow
For her
I hope she lives it

Right now my lips are gold
Hoping in luck to find the right words
Golden words at the end of the rainbow
The peace
That comes after the storm
I’ve painted my lips gold right now
For me
Because I know I need it
